AOL-TIME WARNER AQUIRES THE HUFFINGTON POST! Heralded AS "A BRAND NEW MEDIA UNIVERSE"


Yesterday, Arianna Huffington and AOL announced THE HUFF POST has been sold to AOL-TIME WARNER for a reported $315 million!

Heralded as 'A BRAND NEW MEDIA UNIVERSE' and a 'merger', it's not. It appears to be a simple sale with Arianna taking the money and running with it. Ms. Huffington is one smart lady!

In a flowery, glowing editorial published on February 7, 2011, in The HUFF POST, Arianna Huffington said essentially that the 'new' AOL service will be a cut above everything else on the Internet.

We disagree. As when media mogul Rupert Murdock bought MY SPACE and added it to his portfolio of TV, Internet and print media outlets and it went the way of the goonie bird, likewise we believe The HUFF POST will go.

A HUFF POST loss will not be a big thing, however. It was at best sloppy in it's 'bend-left' editorial policy and any story presented needed verification before it had credibility. 

Also, watch for a soon-to-be Internet launch of a Rupert Murdock "pay for access" Internet News out let. $39.95 per year on a contract is being floated as it's cost. 

Will it fly? We don't think so.
